The residents
of Los Angeles were strongly advised to stay indoors or seek shelter as storms
with frequent strikes of lightning hit the region along with the wider area of
South California on October 4, as per the National Weather Service.

All beachgoers
throughout the region of Southern California were being warned against going to
the coast on Monday afternoon because of the lightening strikes all over the area.

The official
twitter handle of LA County Lifeguards wrote, “{BEACH LIGHTNING} All Los Angeles
County Beaches San Pedro – Malibu including Avalon & Catalina Island are
CLOSED. Lifeguards will clear the water of all persons and advise patrons on
the beach to seek shelter immediately!”

Lifeguards
were seen clearing the beaches along Catalina Island, Malibu, Long Beach and Santa
Monica along with several other locations where lightning was spotted.

Luckily, no
immediate injuries were reported at any of the locations.

The LA
County Fire Department also posted a warning on their Twitter account. The
tweet read, “LIGHTNING | We are experiencing numerous lightning strikes across
the greater Los Angeles area. For your safety, we advise residents to seek
shelter and remain inside until this lightning activity subsides.”

However,
the fans of L.A. Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders had to wait for the action as
the Monday night fixture of the National Football League (NFL) which was played
at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood was delayed.

Media is filled with footage of the heavy rainfall which comes after a hot and
dry summer in drought-stricken California.

Lightning
could be seen pulsating throughout the sky in what appeared to be a beautiful
but extremely dangerous and frightening phenomenon.

has experienced a number of thunderstorms. In 2020, a summer storm in Northern
California caused dozens of wildfires because of over 2,500 lightning strikes.
