Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s SpaceX paid an employee $250,000 to settle a claim she was sexually harassed by the founder in 2016, Bloomberg reported. 

The closely held rocket launch company, of which Musk is founder and chief executive officer, made the payment in 2018 to an unidentified flight attendant who worked as a contract employee on a SpaceX corporate jet, the online news provider said.

It is reported that representatives for Hawthorne, California-based Space Exploration Technologies Corp. did not immediately reply to a request for comment. Musk did not respond to an email seeking comment.

The reports further said that the attendant alleged that Musk exposed himself and propositioned her during a flight in a private room on the plane. It is also said that Musk offered to buy the attendant a horse in exchange for an erotic massage, it said.

In other news, the Tesla CEO positioned himself as the political consciousness of the United States. While spreading himself across the Republican-Democrat spectrum (which isn’t much of a spectrum) in campaign finances, the billionaire now seems disillusioned by the duopoly in American electoral politics.

While Musk’s politics might confuse casual observers- given that he has a nearly even split in donations to the Republicans and Democrats- a closer look provides some clarity. As per the Independent, a sizable portion of donations were to state legislators across the electoral divide in California and Texas, states in which he retains business interests.
