The Stranahan High School in South Florida was evacuated due to a bomb threat on Thursday afternoon.

The school is located at 1800 SW 5th Place in Fort Lauderdale. Authorities are investigating the threat that was called into them. Parents have been informed that students were being dismissed from the school’s football field. This is a developing story.

On Tuesday, the shopper who was fatally shot and killed at Lauderdale Lakes Walmart was a Good Samaritan who intervened in a physical altercation between the suspected gunman and an employee at the store. The store is located at 3001 N. State Road 7.

He was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center where he later died. A Walmart employee was also injured during the fight.

The shooter was identified as Tironie Shavar, a 22-year-old store employee who was not working but had gone to the store around 2 pm to meet another woman who also worked at the store. He has been charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery by sudden snatching.

In another incident last month, a shooting in Fort Lauderdale left a man dead. The shooting took place on April 8 in the early morning hours in the 700 block of Northwest 22nd Road.

Police officials received multiple 911 reports of a shooting and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. Officers tried life-saving measures until Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived on the spot and declared the victim dead.

On Thursday, the police identified the victim as Jermaine Montique. He is 40 years old and a resident of Tallahassee.
