Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s picture with Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio has gone viral after four members of the far-right neo-fascist group were convicted of seditious conspiracy for their role in the January 6 Capitol attack.
Tarrio and three other members were found guilty by a Washington DC jury after they heard dozens of witnesses for more than three months. The Proud Boys are accused of planning the January 6 Capitol attack after Republican President Donald Trump faced defeat in his re-election campaign against Joe Biden in 2020.

Now, social media users have pointed out that Senator Ted Cruz has a selfie with Tarrio. The Texas politician is being trolled on Twitter.
“Sen. Ted Cruz 🤮 pictured with Proud Boy convicted of Seditious Conspiracy Enrique Tarrio,” a Twitter user said.

“Hey @SenTedCruz @TedCruz, this you and chairman of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio who was just found guilty of seditious conspiracy?” another one added.
“Proud Boys terrorist leader Enrique Tarrio and 3 others have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy for their roles in the Jan 6 attack. You know, the same Enrique Tarrio who is seen in many pictures with fascist GQPers including sedition ringleader Rafael Ted Cruz. 🙃” a third one tweeted.

While four members were convicted by the Washington DC jury, a fifth one – Dominic Pexxola – was charged with sedition.
Tarrio wasn’t in Washington on the day of the Capitol attack. He was arrested two days before in a separate case. However, prosecutors argued that he organized the riot.
