After being eagerly awaited by fans, the first teaser of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ garnered 209 million views in the first 24 hours of its release, according to an official announcement by Marvel Studios.
Fans, who had been anticipating the teaser since the year began, quickly rushed to view the 1-minute-29-second long cinematic clip as soon as it was unveiled.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response, Marvel Studios wrote on Twitter- “World’s strongest Avenger with the world’s best fans! Thank you for the 209M views in 24hrs!”
The Twitter post features a GIF of Thor sporting a cap that reads ‘strongest Avenger’. The character is seen attempting to get back in shape through battle ropes.
The film is set to hit theatres on July 8, 2022.
The view count makes the teaser the fourth-most viewed teaser clip in 24 hours, succeeding three other Marvel flicks- ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
At present, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ holds the record for amassing 355.5 million views on its trailer during the first 24 hours of its release.
Thor’s view count figure surpasses ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which garnered 289 million views on its first day, and ‘Infinity War’, which amassed 230 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.
The teaser of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ starts off with Thor running through a forest as a child. Seconds later, a grown-up Thor is seen running through the same setting. The clip then goes on to display glimpses of his journey of self-awareness and how he leaves his superhero days behind the peace he aims to find.
The video also features how he gets back in shape and hops on new adventures with the Guardians of the Galaxy. The film will also feature Thor’s latest threat, Gorr the God-Butcher.
