Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani has tested positive for coronavirus, the incumbent President tweeted on Sunday.

Giuliani was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital on Sunday, as per CNN inputs.

Giuliani is the former mayor of New York City and has been leading the fight to overturn the defeat in the presidential election by Joe Biden, through lawsuits in battleground states.

While Trump did not specify when the 76-year-old tested positive or if he was experiencing symptoms, he said: “Rudy Giuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus.”

“Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!”

In October, the president himself contracted COVID-19, spending three days in a hospital near Washington DC.

As per The Guardian reports, since late September at least 40 people in the president’s vicinity have tested positive since, including first lady Melania Trump, her son Barron, Donald Trump Jr, and many senior aides and Republican politicians.
