Right-wing host Tucker Carlson was ousted from Fox News the same day as his left-wing counterpart, Don Lemon announced that CNN had terminated his contract. This has led to a number of memes online.

Fox News announced that they are parting with longtime right-wing host Tucker Carlson, on Monday, effective immediately. This has led to speculations on social media that Carlson has been fired in the wake of the cable news network coming to a settlement with a defamation lawsuit by Dominion.

Just days ago, Fox News’ parent company settled Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million. “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the company said in a statement on Monday. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

On the other hand, CNN terminated Lemon after 17 years of having a working relationship with him. Lemon is now claiming that he had no idea that he would be terminated from the network.

In a statement Monday, Lemon said, “I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.”He added: “With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.” His show aired on Monday and Lemon gave no indication that anything was wrong. He ended his show with, “Bye, everyone.”
