Twitter users flooded the social media platform with angry comments and memes soon after police ‘apprehended’ a gunman who opened fire at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado on Monday afternoon, killing 10 people, including a police officer. Several users expressed their anger hinting at possible leniency by the police ‘as the shooter was white’.

A Twitter user asked if the shooter was pinned to the ground with a knee to his neck, in obvious reference to the George Floyd case. Floyd, a black man, was restrained by a policeman and pinned down with a knee to his neck in Minneapolis. He died on the spot.

The city of Boulder is located around 30 miles northwest of state capital Denver, on the eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
Unverified early images show at least three wounded people lying on the ground. Multiple gunshots were heard.
