Inna Faliks, a Jewish professor and head of piano at UCLA, has taken a stand, shedding light on the harassment she and her husband faced in the aftermath of the October 7 terrorist attacks orchestrated by Hamas.

Faliks revealed hearing chants of “Itbah El Yahud” (Slaughter the Jews), allegedly voiced by hundreds of students at the school. Shockingly, some graduate students displayed a denial of the Holocaust, further fueling concerns about rising antisemitism.

Attempts to report a threatening UCLA graduate student to campus police were met with a refusal for assistance, citing the absence of violence. Faliks expressed dissatisfaction with the university’s response, describing it as a canned statement proclaiming a zero-tolerance policy against injustice and persecution.

In response to perceived inadequacies in the university’s handling of antisemitism, Faliks and her husband took personal security measures, including hiring security services and acquiring a weapon. The professor questioned UCLA’s policies, suggesting a connection between the university’s stance and complicity with groups like Hamas.

Calls for stronger disciplinary actions against antisemitic behavior, a ban on violent language, and enhanced antisemitic education in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training underscore ongoing concerns about the safety and wellbeing of Jewish individuals on campus.
