United Airlines has issued nationwide ground stop due to equipment outage.

Just as the lengthy Labour Day weekend travel was nearing to a conclusion, United Airlines ordered a statewide groundstop for its flights on Tuesday.

The groundstop at all airports was requested by the airline, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, and was to last until at least 1 p.m. CT.

Though the precise issue was not immediately disclosed, it was thought that the situation was caused by a potential technical fault.

In a six-day period that ended on Tuesday, United Airlines forecasted last week that it will experience its busiest Labour Day weekend ever.

The FAA alert says the airline requested that all flights be held at their departure airports—known as a ground stop—until 2 p.m. EDT.

The latest numbers from the tracking site FlightAware show that the airline has canceled seven flights nationwide and delayed another 85.

All airborne flights will continue to their intended locations.

Operations at a number of regional airports, including Newark, LaGuardia, and Philadelphia, are being impacted by the problem. United Airlines declared that it is attempting to find a solution as soon as feasible.

Similar issues are being caused nationwide at airports all around the United States.

United Airlines has just announced that the computer issue has been resolved and flights will resume.

Normal service is expected to resume by 11 a.m.

The issue has been fixed, according to United Airlines, and the ground stop has been lifted. The airline reported that it has delayed 211 flights across the country, or around 8% of all of its flights today.

Flight delays are being caused by a “system-wide technology issue,” according to the airline’s announcement on Tuesday morning.

As of 10:45 a.m., the Harry Reid International Airport’s departures board indicates that only four aircraft had been delayed. However, before leaving for the airport, travellers are advised to confirm the status of their flights.
