The ex-President of United States of America, Jimmy Carter
celebrated his 97th birthday at his home in southwest Georgia on
Friday. He became the country’s oldest living president in 2019. The 39th
President of the United States was wished by the current US President Joe
Biden
.

Biden took to twitter to convey his best wishes and wrote, “Happy
97th Birthday to my dear friend, President Jimmy Carter. A humble servant of
God. A beacon of light and moral clarity. A leader of extraordinary character,
honor, and integrity. @FLOTUS
and I send our love to you and Rosalynn on this special day. “

Carter was born in a small farming town of Plains, Georgia. He was born
to James Earl Carter Sr. who worked as a businessman and farmer and Lillian

The U.S. Naval Institute also wished their former submariner and
wrote, “Happy
97th Birthday to submariner LT James Earl Carter, USN (Ret). Carter is the only
President of the United States to have graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy.
The Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23) is named in
his honor.”

He served as the chief executive of the country between 1977 and
1981. Wishes poured in from all corners of the country for Carter. His post
presidential life is what inspires millions.

He advocated for justice, authored
multiple books, did volunteer work and taught Sunday school for several years.

Carter was visited by President Joe Biden at his home in April. Biden
revealed that they talked about the old days in their meeting.

Jimmy was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10, 2002 by the
Norwegian Nobel Committee. He was given the honour for “is decades of untiring effort to find peaceful
solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights,
and to promote economic and social development.”

The former President celebrated his 75th
wedding anniversary with his wife Rosalynn Carter. The couple have been
together since 1946.

His family is going through a tough time after the loss of daughter-in-law
Annete Davis Carter. The cause of death was not revealed by the family and she
lived a good life for 68 years.
