US Attorney General Bill Barr has resigned from the post,
President Donald Trump announced on Monday through Twitter.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General
Bill Barr at the White House,” Trump tweeted.

“Our relationship has been a very good one… Bill will
be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family.”

Barr will be replaced by his deputy Jeff Rosen as the
interim Attorney General till the new administration takes charge.

In his resignation letter, shared by Trump on Twitter, Barr
thanked the outgoing president for successfully leading the COVID-19 vaccine
programme amidst partisan attacks including “baseless accusations of collusion
with Russia”.

Barr said that allegations into the supposed “voter fraud”
will continue to be pursued.
