US President Joe Biden along with Japan Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga in his first in-person meet with another head of state warned China against increasingly assertive moves in the Indo-pacific region on Friday.

PM Suga said, “We agreed to oppose any attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion in the East and South China seas and intimidation of others in the region.”

He further said that President Biden also reaffirmed that the US-Japan security treaty included the Japanese-administered Senkaku islands, which Beijing calls Diaoyu, and has been increasingly active in, reported AFP.
