US Vice President Mike Pence tested negative for COVID-19, his spokesperson Devin O’Malley tweeted on Friday.

“As has been routine for months, Vice President Pence is tested for Covid-19 every day. This morning, Vice President Pence and the Second Lady tested negative for Covid-19,” spokesman Devin O’Malley tweeted.

Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump tweeted that he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus.

We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” he tweeted.

Earlier on Friday, Trump had announced that he and the First Lady would begin their quarantine after his close aide Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID-19.

“Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for COVID 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!” Trump said in a tweet.
