After the news of right-wing host Tucker Carlson leaving Fox News went viral on Monday, a clip showing him getting roasted by former Daily Show host Jon Stewart has gone viral on social media.

Fox News announced that they are parting with longtime right-wing host Tucker Carlson, on Monday, effective immediately. This has led to speculations on social media that Carlson has been fired in the wake of the cable news network coming to a settlement with a defamation lawsuit by Dominion. “FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the company said in a statement on Monday. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

After the announcement, many people on social media posted a clip from back in October 2004, when Carlson used to work for CNN, co-hosting a show called Crossfire. Stewart roasted him after he appeared on Crossfire to promote his book. When Carlson was singled out by Stewart for criticism, he counter-criticized Stewart for being biased toward liberals.

One of the Twitter users who shared the clip wrote: “I will never forget John Stewart coming on to Crossfire and exposing what it was (which Tucker was apart of) Man, I miss John Stewart’s comedy on American Politics.”

Stewart made fun of Carlson’s bow tie during his appearance on the show. Speaking to Carlson, Stewart told the host: “I’m here to confront you because we need help from the media and they are hurting us. I made a special effort to come on the show today because I have mentioned this show as being bad.”

The comedian told Carlson, “You’re as big a dick on your show as you are on any show” at one point in the conversation. When Jon was asked years later about his appearance on the show, he said, “It really was not my intent to be disruptive. I truly thought we’d have a goof about how terrible the program is at the top, and move on.”
