A video of thousands of migrants allegedly crossing into Brownsville, Texas as Title 42 ends is being circulated on social media.

“Remarkable video from our Fox drone team shows an enormous line of hundreds of migrants who just crossed illegally into Brownsville, TX this evening. A large majority of them are single adults. The RGV continues to see a massive surge of illegal crossings ahead of T42 drop,” a Twitter user said.
Days before Title 42 is supposed to expire, drone footage revealed a continual stream of hundreds of migrants walking from Mexico to Texas.

The huge line can be seen snaking its way from Matamoros to Brownsville late on Sunday in the video taken by Fox News’ Flight Team. US border patrol personnel are reportedly seeing 2,000 migrants enter each day, according to reports.
According to the news source, who cited Customs and Border Protection officials, more than 8,000 asylum seekers have already entered the US from Mexico in the first four days of May.
When the pandemic-era emergency provision that has allowed for the swift expulsion of over 2.8 million asylum applicants since March 2020 expires on Thursday, officials anticipate that number to surge to as much as 14,000 every day.

At the Biden administration’s request this week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin agreed to dispatch 1,500 US troops to the Mexican border to carry out administrative duties amidst the spike in asylum claimants brought on by the failure of Title 42.
The Pentagon was asked by the Department of Homeland Security to help crack down on unauthorized border crossings, which are predicted to rise.
Days before the pandemic-related asylum limitations cease, US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated last week that border agents face “extremely challenging” conditions.
He mentioned that Mexico last week committed to continue returning Venezuelans, as well as Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans, who enter the US illegally after the restrictions end.
Mayorkas reiterated plans to establish new migrant processing centers in Central and South America as well as new regulations that will enable authorities to swiftly expel asylum applicants who elude them and go via another nation, like as Mexico, on their approach to the American border.

The new facilities can initially process up to 6,000 migrants each month and can gradually accommodate larger groups seeking protection from persecution, war, and failed regimes.
Both liberal and conservative lawmakers are worried about the flood of immigrants.
Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC), Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), and John Cornyn (R-Texas) signed on to legislation this week that would extend for another two years the jurisdiction of Title 42 in the US.
The Biden administration has been urged to collaborate with House Republicans on their own border security and immigration reform proposal, which they have also submitted.
