Violence broke out on Saturday between Donald Trump supporters and his
detractors during a rally organised by the former to decry the alleged election
fraud.

The “Million MAGA march” which was organised by Trump fans
was broken up with violence at the Washington downtown, merely five blocks from
the White House, by Anti-Trump protesters, leading to several people getting beaten up and injured from
both sides.

The rally was a show of strength from the Trump supporters
who gathered in large number near the White House and protested against the
election fraud being alleged by the President without any substantiating proof.

Videos of violence did rounds on social media and showed
people from two factions ganging up against each other and using physical
force. One video showed a Trump supporter getting beaten by a group of
counter-protesters, after he tried to snatch the bullhorn from one of them and pushed few of them on the ground.

As the violence played out in the street, Trump sent tweets
showing solidarity with his supporters, rebuking the counter-protesters as “Antifa
scums”.

He said the Antifa members attacked his supporters unawares
when “99%” of them were gone.

“ANTIFA SCUM ran for the hills today when they tried
attacking the people at the Trump Rally, because those people aggressively
fought back. Antifa waited until tonight, when 99% were gone, to attack
innocent #MAGA People. DC Police, get going — do your job and don’t hold
back!!!” he tweeted.

“Radical Left ANTIFA SCUM was easily rebuffed today by the
big D.C. MAGA Rally crowd, only to return at night, after 99% of the crowd had
left, to assault elderly people and families. Police got there, but late. Mayor
is not doing her job!” he wrote in another tweet.

Trump on Saturday briefly drove by the protestors through
Pennsylvania Avenue on his way to his golf course in a Virginia suburb and he
waved at his supporters, PTI reported.

Trump also alleged that news channels were not showing the
massive gatherings in support of him, downplaying his support base.

“Instead they have their reporters standing in almost empty
streets. We now have SUPPRESSION BY THE PRESS. MAGA!” he said.

Since the election results two weeks back, Trump has filed
several litigations across states challenging the verdict alleging a “massive
fraud” in votes.
