Lindsay Clancy, a Duxbery nurse, was charged on Wednesday in the murder of her children Cora Clancy and Dawson Clancy. Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz identified her and her two children.

As per Cruz, it appears that Clancy strangled her children. The incident took place at their home in 47 Summer St. in Duxbury just after 6 PM on Tuesday. Lindsay’s husband made a 911 call. Police found a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy suffering from “obvious signs of severe trauma” at the scene. They were rushed to an area hospital but did not survive. A 7-month-old boy was found unconscious and taken to a Boston hospital by MedFlight.

“As soon as able, we will be arraigning her on the two charges of murder in the death of her children,” Cruz said.

“When something like this happens, there are obviously usually more questions than there are answers,” he said. “As we proceed forward, we will give answers as we can,” he added.

WBZ-TV I-Team, citing sources, said that investigators are looking at the possibility that Lindsay Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis.
