US Senate on Thursday passed another coronavirus stimulus package worth $1.9 trillion and Americans will receive there checks as soon as this weekend. A day after the bill was passed President Joe Biden addressed the nation giving them hope and plan for America in the months ahead. The US President has promised to get lives back on track and there are a lot of things in the stimulus bill, including unemployment benefits, funding for state and city governments and other things that are not easy for common man to understand.

New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez helped break down what’s actually in the bill in a video on her social media.

She said that they did not get they wanted, “but did we get things that are gonna change people’s lives? Absolutely yes.”

What’s in the COVID Bill?

She explained it includes:

$1400 stimulus checks

Dependents will now get checks

$300 weekly UI

$3000-3600 Extra cash per child 

FEMA will pay you back up to $7k for COVID-19 funeral reimbursements

First $10,200 in 2020 unemployment income will not be federally taxed

Cheaper ACA healthcare exchange premiums (free for some)

Free Cobra Premiums through September

Assistance for independent restaurants and bars

Housing assistance (rent + mortgage)

Easter egg on student loans… a positive sign of things to come

According to US Treasury Department, the payments will be made to those who are registered with the Internal Revenue Services or have paid the due taxes in the last two years. The department said people who are already on the IRS payroll of additional financial benefits provided will also receive the money.
