Because the intersection was under construction, there was no traffic light. According to coroner Daniel Buglio, the two men, who were both sedan passengers, were declared dead at the scene. He claimed that their deaths were unintentional.

Chris was 25 and Patrick was 22, according to the Twitter account. Together, James, Patrick, and Chris came up with the name Schaffrillas, and their YouTube channel has 1.66 million subscribers.

They provide analysis videos on YouTube in addition to live-action recreations of SpongeBob episodes, YouTube Poops, and anime music videos of songs from musicals.
