The next Jan 6 hearing is on Tuesday, July 12th at 10 AM ET.

The committee shared the news on its Twitter profile after the hearings took a break due to the July 4 weekend. The hearing will take place in the Cannon Caucus Room of the 390 Cannon House Office building in Washington DC.

The committee had a surprise hearing last month, introducing top White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who shared more details of how then-president Donald Trump behaved on January 6, including secondhand accounts from Secret Service agents Anthony Ornato and Robert Engel claiming that Trump had insisted on being taken to the Capitol to join the protestors.

This hearing was moved up due to security concerns about Hutchinson, the witness.

Representative Adam Schiff told Face the Nation that the upcoming hearing will focus on Trump’s attempts to “assemble that mob” that attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021, after Trump kept repeating that the 2020 election had been stolen from him and wanted the results overturned after Joe Biden had been declared the victor.

While there are at least two hearings left, the committee believes that there could be more witnesses coming forward. Schiff said “We are following additional leads. I think those leads will lead to new testimony.”

The final hearing will be on primetime television, allowing more Americans to watch the proceedings. Hutchinson’s testimony has, however, been slammed by Trump

During the last hearing, it came out that White House staffers discussed the potential of Proud Boys and Oathkeeprs participating in the day’s events. Schiff was asked whether the committee would show proof of communication between the Trump White House and these far-right militia groups. At the time, the Democrat said he didn’t want to get ahead of the hearings, suggesting this could be one of the things that come up in the upcoming meeting.
