Nichols, who was 29 years old at the time of his death, had been battered by police when he died. When the cops allegedly pulled him over for reckless driving, he was en route home. Online, the disturbing bodycam video showing the Black man being repeatedly struck with a baton, kicked, punched, tasered, and pepper sprayed has surfaced. On January 10, he passed away from his wounds.
The five involved police officers have been dismissed as a result of the vicious assault and are now being investigated for aggravated assault and second-degree murder. Two more police officers were relieved of their duties. Additionally, three firefighters who responded were fired.
After the bodycam tape was made public, the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church had its first service on January 29. The funeral service for Tyre Nichols will take place there as well.

The funeral service for the father of one will take place at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church on February 1 at 1 p.m. CST, and it has been delayed due to weather conditions, according to Fox13. It was originally supposed to start at 10:30 a.m. The weather is also delaying the arrival of several people who want to attend the funeral.

At the service, Rev. Al Sharpton, Nichols’ family, and civil rights lawyer Ben Crump are scheduled to speak.

At the funeral, many of Tyre Nichols’ loved ones will undoubtedly be present. There will likely be 2500 attendees, and more security will be present to manage the masses. Mr. and Mrs. Wells are grateful for Vice President Harris reaching out to them during this heartbreaking time and for her sensitivity on the call.”
