Kennewick Police Department Commander Aaron Clem has identified a male suspect Adam Klei, in connection to a shooting incident. Law enforcement is actively searching for this individual. The shooting occurred between 9:30 and 10 a.m., and the victim has been identified as 48-year-old Travis Kitchen from Kennewick, according to Benton County Coroner William Leach.
Although the precise time of the shooting remains uncertain, the coroner’s office was notified at 11:21 a.m. An autopsy for Travis Kitchen is scheduled for December 7 in Thurston County, as confirmed by Leach. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities are working to apprehend the suspect.
In response to the shooting, the Kennewick Police Department took precautionary measures, resulting in the lockdown of four schools in Kennewick. Cascade Elementary, Washington Elementary, Horse Heaven Hills Middle School, and Canyon View Elementary were placed under non-critical lockdowns, as directed by the Kennewick School District.
