Former US President Donald Trump said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided his Mar-a-Lago residence. While there have been reports that three Trump lawyers showed up while the feds were executing the warrant, Trump himself wasn’t there at the time.

Palmer Report, which offers political analysis “ahead of the curve” noted that “The DOJ and FBI totally waited until Donald Trump travelled to New York before they carried out the search warrant raid at Mar-a-Lago. They wanted to make sure he wasn’t home at the time. They know what they’re doing. He’s totally hosed.”

Joyce Alene, of NBC and MSNBC, added “Would not be surprising if FBI deliberately scheduled execution of the search warrant for a time when Trump was out of town.”

Trump’s son, Eric, confirmed to Fox News that the search was related to the National Archives and material taken from the White House. However, the former US President is in New York for a wholly different matter.

He’ll be questioned under oath by NY Attorney General Letitia James, who’s investigating the mogul’s business dealings.

The AG’s office had said in May that they’d amassed a lot of evidence and one of the missing pieces was Trump’s deposition, which is a sworn testimony not given in court.

Earlier, Trump was supposed to appear in July but it was postponed after his ex-wife, Ivana, died on the 14th.

In a previous statement, Trump asserted that there was no case. However, the former president is now facing problems on many sides, with the Congressional committee also investigating links between his statements and the Jan 6 riot. While fully intending to run for president in 2024, Trump has maintained that the 2020 election was stolen from him and has even likened the recent FBI search to Watergate, where a group of people broke into the Democratic party office building to steal documents.
