Gustavo Arnal, an executive vice president and the chief financial officer of Bed Bath & Beyond, was the man who fell from a New York City tower on Friday.
52-year-old Arnal leaped from the Jenga Tower, a building in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighbourhood, according to the New York Post, which broke the news of the event.
Bed Bath & Beyond released a news release on Sunday announcing Arnal’s passing on Friday.

In a written statement, independent board chair Harriet Edelman of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc said, “I wish to extend our sincerest condolences to Gustavo’s family. Gustavo will be remembered for all he worked with for his leadership, talent, and stewardship of our Company.”
According to a source, Alexandra Cadenas-Arnal, Arnal’s wife, allegedly witnessed him jump off the balcony, CNN reported, adding that no suicide note was found. The New York Police Department stated that the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office was investigating the fatality.

56 The Jenga Building or Jenga Tower is a 57-story, 821-foot-tall skyscraper on Leonard Street in the Tribeca neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York City. It is also known for its street name, Leonard Street. Herzog & de Meuron, a Swiss architectural team, developed the structure, which they refer to as “houses stacked in the sky.” It is the tallest building in Tribeca.
There are 145 condominium homes in the skyscraper, with prices ranging from US$3.5 million to US$50 million. There are two to five bedrooms in each of the 1,418 to 6,400 square foot homes, all of which have individual outdoor areas.

70% of the building had been sold as of May 2013. Izak Senbahar, the building’s developer, claims that in seven months, 92% of the building’s units were sold. The most expensive residential property ever sold below Midtown Manhattan was a penthouse at 56 Leonard, which entered contract for US$47 million in June 2013. The structure was finished in 2017.
