US Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Thursday that the White House supports President Joe Biden’s “killer” comments on Russian leader Vladimir Putin. 

“No, the president gave a direct answer to a direct question,” Psaki said when she was asked by media reporters if there was any regret over Biden’s comment, reported AFP.

On Wednesday, while giving an interview to ABC News Broadcast, when asked if Biden thinks Putin is “killer”, the 46th US President agreed by saying “I do”. 

Biden said Putin would “pay a price” for trying to undermine his candidacy in the US presidential elections as alleged in a new US intelligence report.

Following Biden’s statement, Russia called back its ambassador from the United States on Wednesday. Russian President Putin said on Thursday, “We always see our own qualities in the other person and think that he is the same as us.”

Adding that “It takes one to know one.” 

Even though Moscow has put a hold on diplomatic relations with the US, Putin has made it clear that Russia will continue to cooperate with the US over deals beneficial to Russia.
