White House Press secretary Jen Psaki took on Twitter to admit that she might have caused ‘unintentional ripple’, after she reportedly dodged a question in Wednesday’s press conference about whether President Biden has confidence in FBI Director Christopher A Wray.

“I have not spoken with him about specifically FBI Director Wray in recent days,” Jen Psaki said at the Biden administration’s first White House news briefing.

However, on Thursday she tweeted that, “I caused an unintentional ripple yesterday so wanted to state very clearly President Biden intends to keep FBI Director Wray on in his role and he has confidence in the job he is doing.”

Psaki issued similar answers to various other questions, apparently to avoid making any news. However, she did promise there would be regular media briefings and that she would follow up with reporters on questions she could not answer.

Wray was appointed by former US President Donald Trump in 2017 after he fired James Comey. The FBI is currently conducting an investigation into the January 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.
