Parents, Jon Imes and Amber-Leah Valentine, who originally called the police to notify their teenage son as a runaway allegedly confessed to actually dumping his dead body close to Kingman.

The 16-year-old male, who was found behind a stone wall wrapped in a blanket, had an autopsy on Saturday, March 4 by the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office to ascertain the cause of death. The results of the autopsy are awaiting.

Further charges are being considered, and the case against the parents is still actively being investigated.

Who are Jon Imes and Amber-Leah Valentine?

Amber-Leah Valentine is 41 years old and her husband Jon Imes, who’s the same age as her, had a 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter.

The parents reported their 16-year-old son’s runaway behavior to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office on February 25. According to a press release, Valentine and Imes informed authorities that they had last seen their kid at 10 a.m. the day before after they returned to the family’s Kingman home.

Three days later, on February 28, Mohave County deputies were dispatched to Kingman, Arizona, to the vicinity of Anson Smith Road and Indian Canyon Road, where a deceased white guy was discovered covered in a blanket behind a stone wall.

On March 2, deputies received a second call from the parents of the missing child regarding an unrelated matter involving their 14-year-old daughter.

The mother informed MCSO that their roommate, Kingman resident Richard Pounds, 34, was allegedly holding the girl, hostage.

When the mother and daughter arrived at the hospital, Valentine allegedly admitted to dumping her son’s body where the human remains were discovered on February 28. She allegedly claimed that by the time the missing person’s report was filed, the boy had passed away.

The 14-year-old daughter has now been sent to an unknown location to undergo medical care after the Arizona Department of Child Protection after she was notified in response to the abuse accusations.
