The man who plowed into a crowd gathered outside a Pennsylvania bar on Saturday has been identified as 24-year-old Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes. At least one person was killed and another 17 people were injured in the incident.
The crash took place outside the Intoxicology Department bar in Berwick at about 6.15 pm on Saturday. People had gathered at the scene for an event to raise money for victims of a house fire that killed seven adults and three children in nearby Nescopeck earlier this month, authorities said.

The Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement that a male suspect, identified as Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, is in custody.
The suspect, after mowing down the group, fled the scene. Police then received a 911 call saying that the suspect was seen assaulting a woman with a hammer. The woman, later identified as his mother Rosa D. Reyes.
After the suspect was taken into custody, he told cops that he hit his mother with his car and then bludgeoned her in the head four or five times with a hammer. He allegedly said that he was tired of regular disputes with his mother over money and other issues, and “wanted to be done with it,” The Daily Best reported.
Reyes revealed he had as argument with his mother earlier Saturday evening. He felt “extremely frustrated” as he drove from Nescopeck to Berwick, where his mother lived. While driving to Berwick, he noticed the group outside the bar and plowed into them.

Investigation revealed that in December 2020, he got into an altercation with his mother during which he snatched the phone from her hands and hit her in the face with it. He was charged with assault and harassment charge and was sentenced to 12 months probation, which only ended in July 2022.
