A 42-year-old woman named Alyson Cranick was arrested on rape charges after having sex with an 11-year-old child in a car that was parked outside of his Connecticut school.
Who is Alyson Cranick?
Alyson Cranick is 42 years old. She worked as an administrative assistant at E.O. Smith High School in Mansfield after being employed as a paraprofessional in the Columbia school district, according to confirmation from school authorities. Her employment at the high school was terminated when the state’s investigation was concluded.

She is accused of three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and two counts of first-degree sexual assault. The boy was 11 and 12 years old in 2022 when the alleged sexual interaction took place over two months. The event was first reported in September 2023.
The child said to police that while attending Horace Porter School, which serves students in pre-K through eighth grade, he and Cranick had sex in her car. He disclosed that he had secretly left his house at least fourteen times that night to see Cranick. Cranick appeared in Rockville Court on Tuesday after turning herself in.

The victim revealed that he and Cranick spoke via iMessage and Snapchat, per the arrest warrant. Hundreds of flirty and sexual text exchanges between Cranick and the minor were discovered by the authorities. The warrant also stated that Cranick had made the youngster a bracelet that read “BFFLWB,” which stands for “Best Friends for Life With Benefits.”

Cranick would either wait for him during the night by ‘hiding behind a shrub on a neighbor’s property or walking up to his house,’ the child told the police. During her police interrogation, Cranick denied having sex with the child and claimed to have played down any improper justification for speaking with him. She clarified that her interactions with the child were limited to providing comfort because of worries about family matters.
