Tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election on Wednesday, February 22.

“We’ve celebrated our ‘diversity’ so much that we forgot all the ways we’re really the same as Americans, bound by ideals that united a divided, headstrong group of people 250 years ago. I believe deep in my bones those ideals still exist. I’m running for President to revive them,” Ramaswamy said in a series of tweets.

Who is Apoorva Ramaswamy?

Vivek Ramaswamy, 37, is married to Apoorva Ramaswamy, 34. who is an assistant professor at the Ohio State University. She is a multi-disease specialist on head and neck cancer, reflux and neurodegenerative disorders, and more.

She completed an undergraduate degree in biology at Yale University in 2011. She also has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Yale’s medical school. She is based out of Columbus, Ohio and according to her Twitter bio, she is “passionate about eating, helping people eat, and maximizing the quality of life of cancer survivors.”

The couple has two young sons, three-year-old Karthik, and seven-month-old Arjun. In August 2020, Apoorva shared a picture on Instagram of herself with her husband Vivek, and their eldest son.

She is also a supportive wife as, in May 2020, she posted an affectionate tweet about Vivek after he had been interviewed on Fox News.
