Arabella Foss-Yarbrough is a young mother of two children aged two and four as of July 14, 2022 who claims that she was the target of the gunman, Andrew Sundberg who was shot and killed by Minneapolis police snipers. She is of Black, White and Native descent. He was also Arabella’s neighbour.

According to news reports, Arabella was cooking in her apartment when a shot fired by Sundberg breached her kitchen wall. Following the second shot, Foss-Yarbrough gathered her two children and hid in her bedroom, where she dialled the police.

Eventually, both she and her children were evacuated from their apartment while Sundberg locked himself in his unit as negotiators tried to reason with him. Six and a half hours later, Sundberg was shot by two police snipers.

The young mother has been at the centre of controversy after a video surfaced of her yelling at Black Lives Matter protestors who had gathered near her home to protest the killing of Sundberg by the police. In the video, Arabella can be seen screaming at protestors, “This is not a George Floyd situation. George Floyd was unarmed. This is not OK.” She continues to insist that the BLM protestors go home and that they “grieve in silence.”

The 24-year-old mother of two was seen crying in the video as she said that Sundberg tried to kill her in front of her kids. Following the release of the video, Foss-Yarbrough lost her job and has been unable to gain access to her apartment as it is now a crime scene being investigated by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to confirm whether the use of lethal force by the Minneapolis Police Department was warranted.

To help Arabella out, her sister, Ashley Foss, has started a GoFundMe page to help out. The page has blown past the $10,000 and currently sits at $54,309. On the description, Foss has written that Sundberg had been “harassing and stalking her [Arabella] for months.”
