A man identified as Arturo Morena Torres has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder on Friday night.

Aurora Police confirmed the news of Arturo’s arrest in connection to a deadly road rage shooting of a 26-year-old man earlier this month on May 1.

Who is Arturo Moreno Torres?

Arturo Moreno Torres is a 28-year-old, based in Denver. He was arrested on the charges of first-degree murder on Friday.

Aurora Police said as they received information about the incident. Officers rushed to the hospital after a man arrived with wounds from the shooting. Officers were able to connect with the 26-year-old man and retrieved their vehicle. They also rushed to the shooting scene at the 13100 block of East 13th Place, near the Hoffman Heights area, which is south of East Colfax Avenue between Potomac and Peoria streets. They also recovered multiple shell casings from the site.

As per police reports, the shooting was due to road rage and the suspect and victim did not know each other. The victim was reportedly recognized by Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is still underway, and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to come forward and contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

Aurora Police in a statement said, “Through their investigation, detectives learned that this began as a road rage incident and that the victim was not known to Arturo”.

Officials also said the case is being handled by Major Crime Homicide Unit.
