Aspen Vaughn is the owner of Aspens Restaurant and Lounge who was forcibly kissed by Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. The alleged incident happened on February 25.
Jackson is currently under investigation for multiple alleged incidents of assault at a bar in Kansas City. The quarterback’s brother is accused of shoving a 19-year-old male waiter several times and later forcibly kissing the 40-year-old female owner of the lounge.
Who is Aspen Vaughn?
Aspen Vaughn, 40, the owner of the restaurant said that the authorities have been reviewing surveillance footage from the evening.
Brandan Davies, Mahomes’ lawyer denied Vaughn’s allegations. “Jackson has done nothing wrong,” Davies said.
“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter,” the attorney added.
Vaughn also cited a video to establish her claim that Mahomes grabbed her neck and attempted to kiss her twice. She also believed that Mahomes was intoxicated and also his advances were unexpected and not welcomed.
Vaughn claimed that Jackson “kissed me out of nowhere” while she tried pushing him off. But ignoring her, Jackson continued to do it two more times.
Mahomes has been a friend of Vaughn’s stepdaughter. Vaughn had previously posted a photo of Mahomes and her stepdaughter together on Facebook, where she wrote that Mahomes was a “good kid.”
The 40-year-old restaurant owner said that when she spoke to Mahomes privately about the incident that the quarterback’s brother grabbed her neck and left a small bruise, she said she was shocked by the response.
“It’s disgusting,” Vaughn recalled telling Mahomes. “Like you’re a child and he was trying to say ‘we should be a power couple, and I’m like ‘clearly you’re out of your mind right now.’”
