Who is Carlisha Hood?
Carlisha Hood is a 35-year-old woman from Chicago. At a shopping center, she got into a heated confrontation with a man, Jeremy Brown, who was subsequently allegedly killed by Hood’s son. Hood is accused of one count of first-degree murder and another count of allegedly contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Police detained Hood on 21 June at an apartment complex on East 111th Street after she was named as a potential suspect in the killing of Jeremy Brown.

According to ABC7, on June 18, 2023, around 11 p.m., a shooting occurred at a hotdog stand. According to the investigators, Brown and Hood got into a physical fight inside the fast food eatery.
The victim was then allegedly shot with a firearm by Hood’s 14-year-old son. As Brown fled the store, the youngster kept firing; the teen and his mother then followed Brown into the parking lot. According to prosecutors, Hood instructed her to keep shooting Brown until she killed him.
After the youngster stopped shooting at Brown, his mother allegedly instructed him to shoot Brown’s girlfriend, who prosecutors say supported Brown during the previous argument. Authorities said Hood attempted to take the gun herself before her son pushed her away and the two ran away. Brown ultimately died from his injuries, police said.

“Based upon the facts, evidence, and the law we are unable to meet our burden of proof in the prosecution of these cases,” a statement from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office read, dismissing the charges against both, Hood and her son.
