South Carolina Police said the tragedy unfolded in the countryside just before 4 pm on Tuesday, Valentine’s Day.

Tyler Borys said that his 26-year-old wife, Alexandria Cress Borys came for shopping grocery. She was accompanied by her sister-in-law, niece and nephew. As they were loading groceries into the car, an argument started in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store that was crowded with shoppers and traffic, between Alexandria Borys and another young woman.

Who is Christina Harrison?

Christina Harrison is a 23-year-old identified suspect who shot Alexandria Borys in the shooting in the parking lot of Kroger grocery store.

Harrison shot Borys, 26, and ran off from the scene in a white Ford.

“From what I have pieced together, they had either concluded the argument or Alex was walking away. It’s indicating she was shot with her back turned,” said Tyler Borys, Alexandria’s husband.

Harrison turned herself in, a short time afterwards. She surrendered to the Irmo Police Department before Borys was declared dead at the scene around 5:30 pm. She was charged with murder, unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

Tyler Borys said that the incident happened right in front of their two-year-old child and an infant, who were in the car. He called her the “best wife you could ever ask for” and said “she built a really strong support system” while she was in cosmetology school. Alexandria was also in nursing school. Borys added that “she was a great mother.” Now, he has to bear the burden of raising his child alone. The family has created a GoFundMe account.

Worsening the impact of tragedy, Alexandria’s death came just a week after her brother also died from an unrelated gunshot wound.

The tragedy impacted the entire community. It makes me a little bit more aware because it’s a trying time for any and everybody,” said Tabitha Foster, an Irmo resident. “That shopping centre is our go-to shopping centre so this whole dynamic is a ripple effect in this entire community,” Shawne Edwards, another Irmo resident.
