An active shooter was reported at the University of Virginia and its Charlottesville campus was put under lockdown late Sunday.
The university’s emergency management office said that a shooting took place on Culbreth Road. The suspect in the shooting is believed to be at large and considered to be armed and dangerous. Officials called on the community to shelter in place.
No casualties have been reported so far. Shots were fired at the Culbreth Garage late Sunday night.

“The UVA Police Department is looking for Christopher Darnell Jones regarding the shooting incident that occurred on the grounds of the University of Virginia. Call 911 if seen, do not approach,” the police tweeted.
Who is Christopher Darnell Jones?
He was born on November 17, 1999, and is 23 years of age. He is believed to be 190 pounds
He is an African American with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Burgundy jacket or hoodie, blue jeans, and red shoes.

Jones is believed to have played linebacker and running back at Petersburg High School for head coach Michael Scott. According to reports, he earned an honorable mention as a senior.
He spent his first three years of high school at Varina High School as a freshman and second-team accolades as a sophomore and junior. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society.
He was also reportedly the President of Key Club and the president of Jobs for Virginia Grads Program. He was named Student of the Year as a freshman and sophomore at Varina.

His parents are Margo Ellis and Christopher Jones, Sr. He has three known siblings, Eliza, Darrius and Varian.
According to reports a BOLO has been issued for him. He was apparently spotted last spotted in a 2001 black Dodge SUV.
