As a Manhattan district attorney’s probe into a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels gains new momentum, Donald Trump could soon become the first sitting or former president in U.S. history to face criminal charges.
Trump commented on Truth Social Saturday that he believes he will be arrested on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clark Brewster, Daniels’ lawyer tweeted that his client met with prosecutors at the request of the district attorney’s office and that Daniels “responded to questions and has agreed to make herself available as a witness, or for further inquiry if needed.”

However, Avenatti ended up embezzling almost $300,000 from Daniels. On June 2, 2022, Avenatti was sentenced to four years in prison for defrauding Daniels.
