The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in 2023 will include a new fan favourite.

This year’s competition included a competitor with the moniker “Glizzy Lizzy.”

This Tuesday’s broadcast by ESPN focused on Elizabeth “Glizzy Lizzy” Salgado.

The Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest attracted over 35,000 spectators to the corner of Surf and Stillwell avenues in Coney Island. Millions more people viewed the competition on ESPN.

After breaking the previous world record in 2021 with 76 hot dogs and buns, world champion Joey Chestnut presently holds the title of hot dog-eating world champion. Following the consumption of 63 hot dogs and buns in 2022, Joey earned his 15th Mustard Yellow Belt. Miki Sudo, the female champion from the previous year, currently holds the record for the most Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs consumed in 10 minutes. On July 4, 2022, Miki won her eighth championship after consuming 42 hot dogs and buns.

Who is Grizzy Lizzy

California’s Keene is home to Salgado, 31. Today was her inaugural day in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Naturally, Salgado’s nickname sparked a lot of discussion among sports fans.

One admirer remarked, “Glizzy Lizzy is a wild nickname, even as a competitor in Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.”

It appears that Salgado’s moniker is rather popular.
