A student from the University of Massachusetts Amherst has been arrested during a pro-Hamas protest on campus demanding that the university divest from Israel. The man has been identified as Hani Shaib.
After his actions were highlighted on social media, several people slammed him for his accusations and his antisemitic comments. He allegedly accused Israel of “genocide and ethnic cleansing.”

Who is Hani Shaib?
Hani Shaib is a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received severe backlash for his actions and antisemitic comments.
Several social media users criticized him on the platform and demanded strict actions against him. One user wrote, “Good that he was arrested now they can deport him. I don’t care if he’s from just send him packing. Go live with Hamas. I’m sure they’d love to have him I mean he sounds just like them so he’s off to a good start !!!”

“Maybe instead of community service he can do a semester in Gaza?” another user wrote.
One X user tweeted, “Make him clean up antisemitic graffiti and such. These people need to be embarrassed. AT MINIMUM … Make them hold a sign that says “I’m an idiot” and pick up trash along the local highway. Make em pay $5,000 in restitution to a charity to rebuild kibbutz Hamas destroyed.”
