Harold Thompson has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend on Wednesday with an active domestic violence arrest in his name. Dallas police officers were called to the 800 block of South Walton Walker Boulevard at around 7:40 am Wednesday. Gabriella Gonzalez was found on the ground in the parking lot.

“The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found Gabriella Gonzalez, 26, shot and on the ground in a parking lot,” Dallas Police Department said in a statement.

“Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and Gonzalez died at the scene,” it added.

Who is Harold Thompson?

Harold Thompson was arrested and charged with murder on Thursday. He is 22 years old. According to an arrest warrant, Gonzalez and Thompson were dating each other, reported FOX 4 Dallas.

Court documents revealed that surveillance footage captured Thompson trying to put Gonzalez in a chokehold. He had a family violence strangulation warrant in his name at that time. However, the March affidavit does not name Gonzalez as the person who was assaulted.

The couple argued against an abortion Gonzale had in Colorado, reported Dallas Morning News. Reportedly, Thompson was the child’s father and opposed the procedure. Gonzalez had returned from Colorado the night before.

Gonzalez tried to run away from Thompson, but he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot her in the head. Thompson fled the scene after shooting her multiple times. Gonzalez’s sister was present at the time and heard the shots firing.

He was moved to Dallas jail after the arrest and held without bond. Court records did not mention an attorney who could speak on his behalf.

Texas banned operations after around six weeks of pregnancy in September 2021. However, almost all abortions have been halted in Texas since Roe vs Wade was overturned last summer, except in cases of a medical emergency.
