Roseville Police Department is searching for Jackson Pinney in connection with a shooting in Roseville, a prior shooting in Citrus Heights, and for making “credible threats” against the California State Capitol on Thursday according to several law enforcement agencies.

Who is Jackson Pinney?

Police identified Jackson Pinney as a 30-year-old from Hayward. Police are still searching for Pinney and he was last seen driving a gold 2002 Ford F150. The vehicle has a California license plate 6V04299. According to the California Highway Patrol, he is also said to be linked with a white-colored 1996 Acura Integra.

On Thursday, Roseville Police Department confirmed that Pinney is likely to be involved in a shooting just before 9 PM along Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights that resulted in no injuries or buildings being struck.

Police officers received a call at Kaiser Permanente Medical Centre on Douglas Boulevard regarding a suspect firing shots at a building as he was driving out of the parking lot.

According to reports, Pinney continued driving into Roseville around 9 PM, where he fired an unknown number of bullets near the intersection of Douglas Boulevard and Eureka Road.

Pinney has a criminal record dating back around a decade in the Bay Area’s Alameda County, according to court records. He has been charged with felonies from 2010 through May 2022 and an array of misdemeanors. However, it is unclear what those specific charges were.

In April 2021, Pinney was taken into custody by the Ceres Police Department for causing a disturbance in two retail stores near Modesto. At the time, Pinney was living in Oakdale.

He appeared to be on drugs at the time and got into a verbal argument with workers of a Big 5 Sporting Goods, as well as Togo’s sandwich shop. Pinney was arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest. He had suspected heroin while being booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
