It was recently reported that Jamie Lee Komoroski, the alleged drunk driver who killed newlywed bride Samantha Hutchinson, and critically injured the groom after slamming her car into a golf cart, was more than three times the legal limit at the time of the incident.

At the time of her arrest, the 25-year-old suspect allegedly told the police she “did nothing wrong.” The 34-year-old victim was driving with her new husband, Aric Hutchinson, in Folly Beach when the crash took place.

Folly Beach police Sgt. Zac Halpern reported that Komoroski admitted to having two drinks before the accident, a beer and a tequila pineapple. However, she appeared confused telling the responding officers, “All the sudden something hit me. I did nothing wrong,” according to the incident report.

Aric Hutchinson’s GoFundMe raises over $700K

The fundraiser was started by Annette Hutchinson, the groom’s mother on May 9. Although the original goal of the fundraiser was set at $100,000, it has already surpassed that goal after an overwhelming number of people contributed to the campaign.

“Aric lost the love of his life when my new daughter-in-law Samantha ‘Sam’ Hutchinson was tragically killed by a drunk driver moments after the picture above while leaving her wedding reception on April 28th in Folly Beach, South Carolina. My son is now in critical condition,” Annette explained in the description of the page.

The page also contained a number of pictures that showed Aric badly injured and not able to move, laying down on the hospital bed. Aric “has had one of two reconstruction surgeries, numerous broken bones, and a brain injury, he will have a long recovery,” his mother revealed.
