Identified as John C. Drake, Jr., 38, the son of Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake, the suspect’s actions led to a tense situation and an ongoing manhunt. Chief John Drake expressed shock and sadness at the news, emphasizing his limited contact with his estranged son over the years and calling for his immediate accountability.

La Vergne Police Chief Chris Moews provided details of the incident, explaining that the officers were shot during a struggle with the suspect while investigating a stolen vehicle. Despite suffering injuries, the officers are currently in stable condition.
