Kenneth Henderson Jones, a United Airlines pilot was caught in video repeatedly attacking a parking gate at Denver International Airport with an ax.

The footage was captured on August 2 and later obtained by CBS News Colorado. Jones, 63 was seen walking toward the exit gate of the parking for staff at the airport with an ax in his hands. The pilot to whack the lowered arm 23 times till it broke off. A vehicle was seen entering the lot from the left as the pilot kept attacking the arm.

At one point, the video cut to an airport worker trying to take the ax from Jones. The pilot manages to hold on to the ax before another staff members arrives and both the people successfully disarm Jones. The pilot was arrested later by airport police.

No one was injured in the incident, that was described by the airport officials as a “physical struggle.”

Jones was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief. He is rated to fly Boeing 767s and 757s, according to FAA records. He is scheduled to appear in Adams County Court on September 25.

He told Adams County sheriff’s deputies that “he just hit his breaking point.” He further mentioned that “was trying to get rid of issues for everyone waiting” after observing six vehicles in line at each of the three gates. He said he was also trying to leave the airport before the incident took place.

Airline spokesman Russel Carlton told CBS Colorado that Jones “was removed from the schedule and is on leave while United conducts an internal investigation.”
