Police officials have apprehended a man who had barricaded himself inside a business in South Dallas on Thursday afternoon. Previously, he allegedly shot and killed a woman while hurting three other men.

The accused has been identified as Larry Deckard.

Who is Larry Deckard?

Larry Deckard is 44 years old. He has been arrested for the fatal shooting in South Dallas, which claimed the life of one woman and injured three men.

According to the Dallas Police Department, the fatal shooting occurred in the 5300 block of Colonial Avenue. Around 2 p.m., authorities received a distress call about the incident. When they arrived, they discovered three guys with gunshot wounds and a woman who had died from her wounds.

The victims were taken to a neighboring hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been revealed to the public. Soon after the first incident, officers received a call reporting a person barricaded inside a business in the 4800 block of Botham Jean Boulevard. The guy, identified as 44-year-old Larry Deckard, was recognized as the suspect in the adjacent homicide.

The Dallas Police Department verified that the SWAT squad was deployed to the establishment and successfully captured Deckard. Deckard was brought to a local hospital for evaluation following his arrest.

Meanwhile, another shooting incident occurred near the Boys and Girls Club in Annapolis. The incident claimed the life of one 18-year-old man. The shooting happened around 2:10 p.m. on the 1900 block of Copeland Street.

The victim, Tre’on Hunt of Glen Burnie, died at the scene. In response to the incident, parents gathered at the intersection of Bywater and Copeland streets to meet their middle school children to ensure their safety and avoid the area affected by the shooting.
