Who is London Breed?
London Nicole Breed, born on August 11, 1974, is a prominent American politician and the 45th mayor of the City and County of San Francisco. Her political journey began when she served as the supervisor for District 5 and later assumed the role of president of the Board of Supervisors from 2015 to 2018.

Breed’s roots trace back to the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco. After completing her college education, she embarked on a career in government, ultimately winning a seat on the Board of Supervisors in 2012 and officially taking office in January 2013. Her leadership within the Board led her to become its president in 2015.
In a pivotal moment, Breed acted as the acting mayor of San Francisco following the passing of Mayor Ed Lee, as per the city charter. This interim role lasted from December 12, 2017, to January 23, 2018.
Breed’s historic victory arrived when she won the San Francisco mayoral special election held on June 5, 2018. She achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first black woman to hold the position of mayor in San Francisco.
