Marilyn Manson, born Brian Hugh Warner, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, actor and writer. Manson has been a goth-rock performer, majorly protested because of his perceived “dark” views. He is the lead singer of the band, ‘Marilyn Mason’, which he co-founded with guitarist Daisy Berkowitz in 1989. The name of the band is a juxtaposition of actor Marilyn Monroe and cult leader Charles Manson’s names.

Born in Canton, Ohio in 1969, Manson has German and English ancestry. According to IMDB, Manson was molested several times by his neighbour. He is said to have spent a lot of his teenage playing with sex toys, shooting BB (ball bearing) guns and selling sex magazines to his classmates. He was the only child of his parents and attended the religious private Heritage Christian School, although he wasn’t very fond of the religion. Manson attended public school only after 10th grade.

Some of Marilyn Manson’s best musical works came in the 1990s. His albums like ‘Portrait of an American Family’, ‘Antichrist Superstar’ and ‘Mechanical Animals’ did well with the younger generation then, but created a very controversial image of Manson. He has been ranked at No 44 on the list of the ‘Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists’ by Hit Parader and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.

Game of Thrones actor Esmé Bianco has sued Marilyn Manson, alleging that the singer raped and sexually battered her. She said that Manson had subjected her to psychological abuse, whipped her, cut her and chased her around his apartment with an axe, Variety reports.
