Noah Green, the suspect in the US Capitol attack on April 2, which claimed the life of Police officer William “Billy” Evans, appears to be a supporter of Louis Farrakhan, the leader of ‘Nation of Islam‘, according to numerous Facebook posts uploaded by the 25-year-old, reports US media.

Green, who was born in Indiana and resided in the state of Virginia, had criticised the US government on multiple instances and allegedly used his social media accounts to highlight his struggles and even called the government “the #1 enemy of Black people”.

He wrote on Facebook, “To be honest, these past few years have been tough, and these past few months have been tougher. I have been tried with some of the biggest, unimaginable tests in my life. I am currently now unemployed, after I left my job, partly due to afflictions”, reported New York Times.

Reportedly, Green, who was fatally shot by the law enforcement officials on Friday, shared multiple posts and links relevant to the work of ‘Nation of Islam’, a movement that has called for the independence and self-sufficiency of the African-American community.

Soon after the incident at the US Capitol complex, Facebook and Instagram swiftly deleted the accounts of the suspect to limit any potential misunderstandings and spread of false information.

CNN reported a statement from a Facebook spokesperson on Friday which read, “After this horrific event, our thoughts are with the Capitol Police and their loved ones. We have designated the incident under our Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy, which means we have removed the suspect’s accounts from Facebook and Instagram,” and added that the social media giant was in communicating with the necessary authorities while the investigations are underway.
