Robert Zildjian Mondragon, a Florida resident, has been arrested for allegedly killing animals and placing them on a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Parkland school shooting.

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives said that investigation revealed his disturbing fascination with school shootings. Mondragon is 29 years old. He is currently being held on charges of removing or disfiguring a tomb or monument (three counts), violation of probation for battery and indecent exposure (five counts) and violation of a risk protection order.

As per officials, the Florida man left a dead duck with its chest cavity cut open on a bench at the MSD Memorial Garden outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. They further added that the next day, a school crossing guard found a dead raccoon on the same memorial bench. A deputy then found a dead opossum on the bench.

Detectives said that survillience videos show a male driver getting out of his white Nissan car and then entering the memorial for several minutes before getting back. Mondragon’s Sentra, with an illegal window tint, matches the description.

Deputies said that they saw bird feathers and blood on the front passenger-side floorboard.

Mondragon told the deputy he had the dead bird in his car because he “likes the metal and blood smell that emit from the dead animal,” authorities said.

Mondragon lives in Margate and has lots of facial tattoos, which resemble those of Tate Langdon, the character from the television series American Horror Story based on the Columbine High School massacre, the agency said Friday. 

He is already on probation for masturbating in public while on a lunch break from his warehouse job.
